Do you want to get better at living by faith and following Jesus? I’m hosting a live, 8 week course that will meet in small groups of around 8 to 10 over Zoom. We will meet throughout the week as a group, and there will also be one one one coaching. While this is scheduled for 8 weeks it may extend past 8 weeks as needed.
I grew up in what I call schizophrenic Christianity. I call it that because it was crazy and disingenuous. I wanted God in my life, but no one ever showed me what it looked like to follow Jesus. I once asked my mom why I should believe what she believed and she had no answer because it wasn’t authentic for her. At 18 I left home and continued to do the version of Christianity I was taught growing up because it was all I knew; it left me broken and empty.
In December 2008 I surrendered my life to God and began following Jesus in earnest for the first time. Before that, God had only been something I knew about, but finally He became someone I knew personally, and I have become consumed with knowing Him more.
Since then, my life has been characterized by faith. I continually step out of my comfort zone into where God is at work, and as a result I regularly see the Holy Spirit show up and use me to reach the lost with the Gospel and to teach others to follow Jesus. My life has become unexplainable apart from God.
In March of 2009 the Holy Spirit led me to start a nonprofit mechanic company where my full-time job was fixing cars for broke people for free as a way to share the love of God with people. My life has become unexplainable apart from God. The way that God used believers to reach the lost with the Gospel in the book of Acts has become a regular occurrence in my life.
Not long after I was saved I read 1 Corinthians 11:1 where Paul wrote, “Imitate me just as I also imitate Jesus.” I began praying that I would one day be able to say that; not because I wanted to be anything special or anything like that, but because I wanted to be so much like Jesus that people say Him in my life instead of me. I wanted to follow Jesus so well that I would be able to help others learn what no one taught me growing up.
If someone had shown me at an early age how to follow Jesus, I might have avoided much heartache, but consequently I am now driven to equip others to follow Jesus and to avoid the mistakes I made along the way. While I am far from perfect and feel like an absolute train wreck sometimes God loves me and His specific calling on my life is to strengthen other believers. For years He has been using me to do for others what no one ever did for me.
This class is absolutely free; there is absolutely no charge for anything. Donations are accepted, but will in no way impact anything. God is transitioning me into full time ministry, so I’m pouring my time and life into things like this class, and how I will be supporting my family financially. If you contribute anything it’s greatly appreciated, but if you don’t and wish to participate in the class please do! No one will receive any different treatment based what they do or don’t give.
